Pat, your Margaret Tibbles who married James Brawley is definitely the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth Hays Tibbles, and sister of my William.I carry 1810-1813 for her birth, based on the same different census info.I need to do some figuring, but it looks to me like her tombstone age may be off, as her next younger brother was born Mar 1, 1813, and there is probably not enough time between these births.Or his birthdate may be wrong.
The 1810 census shows that her family lived in Washington Township, Fayette Co., PA, at that time.I have been to Fayette co., and could find NOTHING else about the family in county records.Seems to me I remember seeing a War of 1812 reference in the PA archives that may be this same guy, and he was from a different county at that time. But I haven't had a chance to follow that up.
I have Margaret's Tibbles line back to the 1680 Maryland immigrant, John Tibbles.Have never been able to pinpoint Elizabeth Hays.Have looked at the two lower Delaware counties, and while there were several Hays families, I can't place her specifically.
Please contact me directly by email and I will share what I have.I know nothing about subsequent Brawley generatons, and would like to.
