I have been searching for a substantiated ancestoral link to John Power(s) Tibbit(t)s born May 1, 1806 in Onandaga County, New York. From a news article from 1850's, reference to his father's name was Oliver. I am speculating that the Power in John's name may have been derived from his paternal grandmother Elizabeth Power who was married to Caleb Tibbitts, son of William and Judith. Caleb and Elizabeth had a son Oliver, March 26, 1773. If this Oliver had children, the name, birthdate, and location of my ancesctor John Power Tibbit(t)s seems to fit in this lineage, but I am looking for substantiation. If anyone can fill in details about Oliver Tibbitts and his descendants, I would be most appreciative. Thank you.
