I just responded to a thread only to realize it's about 8 years old now! Since someone may find the info of value, I'm bumping it up here.
Hi, I'm a descendant of Thomas Williams and Ruby Tibbets (this is how my Aunt spelled the name; it's not necessarily accurate). I'm descended from Alphaeus (Alpheus, Alphens) Williams and (Arrie) Gertrude Fuller (Beadle). My mother and Aunts, who were raised with their Grandfather, knew him as "Alphaeus," an official source said his name was "Alphens" which I had never heard before (but all the other info jived), but I'm calling him Alpheus as this is more than likely the correct spelling.
Here's the info I have, based on my grandmother's diary:
Ruby Tibbets died Jan. 25, 1898, Thomas Williams died Sept. 12, 1875. They had 14 children.
Alpheus was born Feb. 14, 1859 in LaGrange County Indiana, but they later moved to Michigan. (On a side note, Alpheus' sister Lizzie (Ash) lived to be 102 years old, passing away in Ohio in 1953.) He died in 1930 while living with my grandmother in Berwyn, Illinois. He had moved there from Michigan after his wife passed away
It's said that the ancestors came from Wales (This was written by my Aunt--I kind of figured that early on, lol)
I'd be interested in any information on what nationality Ruby was. I'm guessing English.
