Hi! I am researching the Cooley family from the Ossipee area, and wondered if anyone had any information that could help me.
My ggggg-grandfather was John Cooley, and he married Deorah Tibbetts of Wolfeboro, NH in 1770. They had a son named Joseph or Daniel, who I believe I descend through.
Deborah died in 1776/1777. John had to come home from fighting in the Revolutionary War to find care for their young son after her death.
If my theory holds correct, Joseph had a son named Calvin, who is buried in the Tibbetts cemetery in Ossipee. He married a woman named Hannah, who is also buried in the Tibbetts cemetery...wonder if her last name could have been Tibbetts as well. Hannah was born on 1806, and Calvin was born in 1810. Their son, Hezekiah Cooley, married a Reufina Tibbetts - who was the daughter of Daniel and Lucinda Tibbetts, also buried at Tibbetts Cemetery.
Any help piecing together this puzzle is much appreciated!
