This is my ancestor's William's brother and he served under the name of Thomas Therman in the war of 1812. Dickerson Therman also served in the same war and both were in Capt. Geo Argenbright's Company of the East Tennesse Riflemen. They were Thurmond's but were listed under Therman, just as William was in 1840 census. All were the children of William Thurmond and Mary Dickenson.
