Thurman & Variations DNA project participation
Hello researchers,
As the volunteer administrator for the FTDNA Thurman & Variations DNA project I wanted to post an update for anyone considering genetic testing as a means to further their family history study.
Our DNA project was started 10 years ago by Loren Thurman and this month we enrolled our 100th participant! We welcome men with any Thurman variant surnames (Thurmon, Thurmond, Thurmann, Thierman, Turman, Thormann, Thoroughman, Thurmer, etc) to test a minimum of 37 markers.
Also, as more men and women test autosomal genetic markers with Family Finder, AncestryDNA, and 23andMe we are inviting those with any Thurman or variation ancestral surnames to add their results to the Thurman & Variations project as well.
Joining a surname project is a great way to compare your results with others and collaborate on new research strategies. My co-administrator Deborah Thurman Parks and I work with our participants to verify paternal lineage documentation and interpret genetic results.
Feel free to contact me at any time with questions about testing or about our results: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/thurman/default.aspx?/publicwebsite.aspxhttp://www.familytreedna.com/public/thurman/default.aspx?/publicwebsite.aspx
