Hannah Thurber's father is alternatively noted in family notes (right or wrong)as William Thurber, though no good potential match is known with that name in the Thurber family tree of Rhode Island. Whatever his name -- John or William -- he removed to Burling Slip, New York, family notes confirm -- where his daughter Hannah (Thurber) Fairfield and her children were known to visit him in the 1800s. A fellow descendant of David and Hannah (Thurber) Fairfield noted in the 1898 NY Genealogical & Biographical Record that William (or John?) Thurber had two daughters who also lived in New York: "one, named Lydia, married an Anderson (an importer of fine cloths): the other daughter married a Murray, who, according to family tradition, had a large tailoring establishment." Perhaps these bits of info will help us tie into the right Thurber branch. Notably, if the correct tie-in is, as I suspect, John and Hannah Thurber, there is a further name link, since John's mother's name was Lydia and he named his daughter Lydia, as noted above.
