George Thurber 1792-1848

Searching for information about gtgtgrandfather George Thurber, born in N.Y., died in Michigan. He
was married to Rebecca Finley. They apparently had 6 children: Martha (my gtgrandmother), Finley, Sarah, Abner, Lucinda, and Elisabeth - at least these 6 names are listed with Rebecca in the 1850 census in Constantine, St. Joseph County, Michigan. George had died by then, but was listed in the 1845 state census in White Pigeon, St. Joseph County, Michigan.

I have a George Thurber listed in the 1840 census in Steuben County, New York, also an Abner Thurber. this census does not list other members of the household. There was also an Erastus Thurber in St. Joseph County in 1845 and 1850.

Does anybody have these names in their family/lists/information? Any help in finding relationships of these Thurbers and/o siblings and parents greatly appreciated. I can share what happened to Martha, about Rebecca's death, and a slight bit about "young" Abner.

Thanks, Ruth Catton
