Hi David,Thank you for letting us know about the book History of the Families of McKinney-Brady-Quigley. I see that it shows Henry Thomas Thurber, husband of Elizabeth Brady Croul. They had five children which I had listed in my Clearing House files, but the book provided three birth dates that I didn't have. The book states that Henry Thomas Thurber graduated from the University of Michigan in 1874. It further states the following:"He was a prominant lawyer and held the office of private secretary to Grover Cleveland during his term as President of the United States from 1893 to 1897." Henry T. Thurber and family resided in Detroit, Michigan.
Henry Thomas Thurber, born 28 Apr 1853 in Monroe, Michigan, was the son of Jefferson Gage and Mary Bartlett (Gerrish) Thurber. Henry T. and Elizabeth B. (Croul) Thurber had children:Donald McDonald Dickenson, b. 1883; Marion Bartlett, b. 1885; Henry Thomas, Jr., b. 1890; Elizabeth, b. 1893; and Cleveland, b. 1896. Henry Thomas is fifth generation descended from Benjamin and Elizabeth (Hallett) Thurber, for whom we have found no parents as yet.
Sincerely, Joanne E. Martin (Thurber Clearin House).
