Thanks for your reply, John. Sorry about the delay in replying to your post, but I became a first-time grandma this past week. I have found additional information since that post, but would definitely appreciate knowing more. I was given information that John Nimrod Throne and Hannah Severns were the parents of my Sarah. John was born 1807 in Scioto County, Ohio, married in Sep 1836, and died in 1864 in Shelby County, Illinois. Hannah was born 2 Sep 1818 in Gibson Co. IN and died 19 Jun 1905 in Tower Hill, IL. I was also sent a photocopy of a picture of them. On the Throne side, I've been told that John's father was Conrad Thone, who married Rebecca Norman in 1806, and died in Scioto Co., OH, in 1815. My contact also said her aunt told her that Conrad was a religious man who had to leave country after country because of his religion. The story is that he went from Holland to Scotland to Ireland and then back to Scotland where he stowed away on a ship to the U.S. At the time, my contact had no other information about him. I have not worked on this line for a couple of years, so I have not pursued this further. My plan was to spend next summer entering all my info. regarding my Throne/Evans line into my family history program, so please excuse me if I seem to be a bit hazy about the facts. Right now, it's all on paper. Thanks again for contacting me, and I'd appreciate any more information that you have. Sue
