Several of my ancestors were residents of Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky in the 1800's. My ancestors Jacob Crumbaugh (1777-1825) and wife Louisa Schneider Crumbaugh (1779-1852) are buried at the Frankfort cemetery. Nearby tombstones are, L.W. Crumbaugh, Jacob Smith and Phebe, wife of Samuel Throcmorton. I am attempting to determine who Phebe and Samuel were. At www.familysearch.org I found a Samuel Throckmorton, born 20 December 1771, son of Samuel Throckmorton and Mary Forman Franses. The site says he married in Kentucky on 26 January 1806 to Phoebe Schneider (born 11 December 1787), daughter of Baltzer Schneider and Mary Catherine Barach. Children listed are Catherine (b. 2 Dec 1806), Mary Ann (b. 21 April 1809) and Richard Samuel (b. 31 Jan 1812). On a Kentucky Genweb site I also found a Samuel Throckmorton who was a private in the 1st Rifle Regiment, Kentucky Militia and apparently died at the Battle of the River Raisin on 21 January 1813. Does anyone have any information on the above people? I have considerable Crumbaugh information (and am willing to share that information) but have hit a brick wall with the Schneider family. I am also interested in learning if there is a connection between my ancestors and the Throckmorton family. Thank you Paul Notify Administrator about this message?
