First let me ask if there are any male Thrifts in this line, please join or contact the Thrift DNA project: http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Thrift-Frith-Firth/ I've found a bit more info http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~libeacons/1875personal_histories_ottawa.htm Personal Histories of Allen County, Ohio -- 1875 OTTAWA TOWNSHIP transcribed from the Historical Atlas of Allen County, Ohio. Compiled and edited by Charles H Jones, assisted by Theodore F Hamilton. Published by H H Hardesty & Co Publishers, Lakeside Building, Chicago. 1875. ROBERT W THRIFT, M.D., son of James and S-- Thrift, was born in Fairfax County, Va., Feb. 11, 1823. His mother removed from Virginia to Putnam County, Ohio, in 1849. He was married to Miss A. R. Rice, of Ottawa, Putnam County. Their children are Flora, Kate, Robert Wilson, and Mabel. Mrs. Thrift was born in Ashland County, Ohio, May 1, 1834. She is a daughter of Clark H. and Catharine Rice, who removed from Ashland County to Putnam County in 1839. Their children are Mrs. Thrift, Gen. A. V. Rice, Representative in Congress from the Fifth Ohio District, Samuel B., Sarah E., Julia and Clark H., all living except the last. Julia is the wife of the Hon. Joshua R. Sencey, of Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Thrift's brothers and sisters, in the order of their ages, are George W., James H., William H., John Y., Benjamin F., Margaret A., Jane E., Catherine I., Edwin W., and Albert, all living except George, James and Albert. His sister Margaret is the wife of the Hon. George Skinner, of Putnam County. Jane E. married the Rev. Barnes, now of Wood County, and Catharine I. married Mr. Coates, of Leipsic, Putnam County. I'm also working on some info on James H Thrift, son of James & Sinai. I hope to post that soon.
