hi

i recently posted this info on the harris forum. can anyone on the thrasher forum identify who this deliah thrasher, mother of mary/ polly williamson, was and who her husband was and more about this thrasher family?

as indicated, per the 1850 census for calhoun co, al delilah thrasher, who was age 53, stated she was born in south carolina.

thanks.

hi bill

yes, i have seen the list and others on this marriage list for benton/ calhoun/ cleburne co, al are also our harris family.

this cannon harris, who married frances poss, was the cannon harris, son of our charles and jane cannon harris, etc.

however, re our jabez/ jabes harris, son of our arch and elizabeth carter harris, who married elizabeth williamson--not williams.

either they recorded or transcribed her name as elizabeth williams incorrectly.

she is definitely show to have been the daughter of g.w. williamson, wife, mary/ polly on the 1850 census for calhoun/ cleburne co, al. on this census, she was called mahale willamson.

by 1870, her father g.w. williamson had died and as, indicated, per the 1870 census for lincoln co, tn our elizabeth william harris, listed as m. a. e. harris was living with her mother polly williamson with children: lucinda; jabes; and archie harris, who, by the way, had also been named in our archibald harris' 1869/ 1870 cleburne co, al estate papers.

near g.w. williamson in 1850 in calhoun co, al and also near polly williamson in 1870 in lincoln co, tn was this deliah thrasher, who we believe was the mother of mary/ polly williamson. per the 1850 al census, deliah thrasher was age 53, b sc.

so, again, elizabeth, who married our jabes/ jabez harris, is definitely shown to have been elizabeth williamson NOT williams.
