I am searching for info on the Thrasher family that lived in Bibb County in the 1700, 1800, and 1900's.
My father, Marvin Thomas Thrasher was born in West Blocton in 1912 to John Newburn Thrasher and Mittie Mayebelle Davis. John Newburn was born in 1875 in Bibb County to Joshua P and Judson Thrasher. John Newburn died about 1931, but I have been unable to find out anything else. Joshua was born about 1815 to JW Thrasher and Mary Welsh. JW and Mary had 8 children. One of their sons, John E. Thrasher born about 1844 married a woman by the name of Rutha J?. They had 6 children. According to the info I have, one of their sons, James Barlow (born 1869)was the famous outlaw Bart Thrasher of Bibb County and is buried there in Caffee Cemetery. They also had a son ELIHA E Thrasher (born about 1874) was riding with Bart and was killed during a gun fight.
If you have info on this part of the Thrasher family please let me know.
