I am trying to research the parents of Eliza Thorp b. circa 1801,NY, according to census records. Her parents were supposedly b. CT. On Dec. 24, 1833, in Buffalo, NY, she married Fitch Bradford Comstock b. Jan. 1,1804 in Milford, CT. I can find no trace of her before this date.
I do know there was Thorp family in New London/Milford/New Haven, CT. area and have a Polly Barker Waterman b. Feb.1797 m. to Elisha Comstock. She was dau of Merriman Thorpe b. 1/16/1772,New Haven,CT ,d12/2/1864m. Wm. Waterman b. 6/1763, New London, CT,d. 2/25/1847 Pike, Bradford, PA
Her line: Titus b.5/2/1739 & Miriam Bishop Thorpe
Isaac Thorpeb. 10/8/1697 New Haven, CT m.Dinah Luddington
Nathaniel Thorpe II b.5/24/1664/65, New Haven, CT, m. Elizabeth Little
Nathaniel Thorpe I, b. 5/24/1640, New Haven, CT, m. Mary Ford
William Thorpe b, abt 1605 England, d. 1679 Wallingford, New Haven, CT.
Do you have any suggestions where I should go from here. I am not even sure there is a connection in THIS line!
Any ideas from you would be appreciated.
