Is the Benjamin Thorp that you are referring to the 7th son of Thomas(Rebeca Milword) Thorp?
What I have is Benjamin Thorp married _____ Wright by 1710 at Woodbridge NJ, and their oldest son is
1 John Thorp
and son's
2 Benjamin Thorp
3 Abner Thorp
4 David Thorp
5 SolomonThorp
I also have material showing a Mrs John(Anna) Q Holmes of MI in the 1970's hired a professional genealogist from MorrisTown NJ and in the genealogical Material He complied, uses some of Mrs Schmuck material
Mrs Schmuck as we know is a descendant of Abner Thorp, and Mrs Holmes is a descendant of LT John Thorp of Somerset.
In the letters to Mrs Holmes, the genealogiststates that Lt John Thorp,Peter Thorp, Oliver Perry Thorp, James Thorp (1745), Jesse and Cornelius Thorp are all brothers. And the Will of thier Father, John Thorp cannot be found in NJ, so he suggested checking in NY state.
I have seen DAR records that show Lt John and Peter Thorp are brother and that its.
As for James Thorp SR 1745 NJ I have located one in Ohio, where his Willshows his sons as James and Colin Thorp, but it doesn't list John Jacob Thorp or any of his siblings.
I have also found a James Thorpe as a signer of the PequannockTownship NJ 1776,(a document upholding the Continental Congress)
but I have found no other data for him.
Another signer of The Pequannock Paper is Mark Walton (1754,1808), I am wondering if he is related to Martha Walton, does anyone know?
What is the DRC?
