William Bohan/Bohon/Bohen (i've seen it all 3 ways) Thornton, the son of Jesse Thornton and Ann Bohan..was my gggg grandfather. He was married to Appia/Aphia Foushee and then 2nd wife Susan Elizabeth ?, In 1830 they were in Fayette County, TN. Then in 1850 they were in Marshall County, Mississippi. That is where they are buried also. William Bohan Thoronton B 15 Dec 1786 D 13 July 1865 Susan was B 24 August 1803 D 8 March 1871. William B. and Appia's children were: Sarah Ann, Jesse Andrew Jackson, John Fushee, William Hugh, Louisa Mayo, and Benamin Robert. Louisa is my ggg grandmother. John Foushee Thornton was married to Caroline Neely. Caroline is buried in the cemetery in Marshall County. Louisa and Benjamin are buried in the cemetery in Marshall County. Susan and William B. also had children: James Thornton (buried in Marshall County) Susan E., and there is a Daniel on the 1850 Marshall County, Mississippi Census. There is a Francis W. Thortnon in the cemetery and he is also on one census with them but it doesn't have the relationship so I'm not sure if he was Appia and William Bohan's son or not. In the book "Historical Southern Families" Edited by Mrs. John Bennett Boddie it says that Jessie Thornton(oldest son of Daniel Thornton) married Ann Bohen, Daughter of Benjamin Bohen in Orange Co. in 1784 and died prior to 1813, leaving only one son, William Bohen Thornton, who moved to Culpeper County, VA. William Bohen Thornton married Appia Fushee, daughter of John Fushee an Sarah his wife of Culpeper Co. and granddaughter of John and AppiaFushee.
