Charlie Thornsberry was married 3 times. His first wife was Myrtle Long. She died of measles. They had 6 children- Bessie (my grandmother), Asa, Will, Wes, Charley, and Cecil. Cecil died at birth. Wes and Charley died as young children from measles.
Charlie remarried to Mary Ferguson. They had 3 children- Kenneth, Virgil, and Peachie. Peachie died as a young child. Mary was sickly and Charlie hired Sarah to clean house for them. One thing led to another and soon Mary divorced Charlie. Sarah gave up her children from her first marriage in order to be with Charlie. The youngest child was stilltaking a bottle when she took them to the courthouse and turned them over to the county. Possibly that is your grandmother? Although i ha e never heard the name Littie before. She had a son and 2 daughters Sylvie and Faye as far as i have known. With Charley she had 3 children- Eulah born 1934, Beulah born 1937 and James Roger born July 3, 1938 and died june 20, 1988. Sarah was born July 3, 1896 and died July 22, 1994. She and Charlie raised the children they had together. None of the Thornsberry children
were adopted out.
