Chad,
I have a Thomas Thorn born in NY, 1790, I believe he was born in Minisink, Orange Cty.,NY. I do not have his birth record. He had many children, I have all their names, no John. Thomas had a son born in NY in 1827, Jacob. Jacob settled in PA. for about 10 years, married and had children. He came to Wisconsin between 1860-1870. He lived in Outagamie, Bovine, WI in 1870. He had a son Frank A Thorn who then moved to Langlade Cty, town of Pearson. I believe Deer Creek is fairly close to Bovine, but I need to check on map.
Many times families traveled to another state together. Sometimes brothers or cousins. I think maybe our Thorn boys could have been cousins? In my family tree there are many Richard, John, Henry and Martha,s listed. In the will of Thomas' wife, Hannah Bennett Thorn she mentions a Hattie Thorn! I believe there was a Richard Thorn listed in Orange Cty.This is all a very BIG assumption, but I will keep my eyes open everytime I see a Richard Thorn in NY.
