I think this is the same family. Daddy was born in 1907, so would be close in age to your husbands father. Daddy called him Johnnie. I found John on the 1910 census living in Blackburn, Jefferson Co, OK. I reconized the children's names, having heard them and visited with them with Mother and Dad as a child. The Thornburgs seemed to be a close family, they moved from MO.after the Civil(James and Wm.A. were both in Confederate Army.)to AR.together, sometime in the late 1860's. John married Mary E. Watson Apr 16, 1866. They had a son James. He was a lot older than my Dad, but we visited them often, as I was growing up. He was our Uncle Jim. In the late 1940's, he moved to a farm west of Marlow, OK. Daddy helped him build his house and barn. Jim's half-brother, William, brought a farm next to him. They married sisters. They later moved into Marlow. My husband was teachin school at Duncan so I got to visit with them some. Jim told me he got so mad at his Daddy for marring Sophronia, that he went to live with his grandfather. He said He said some mean things and treated her badly. He said she did not deserve to be treated that way and later years he made up for it. Sometime in the 1870's they moved to Texas, where my gfather was born, then in late 1890's they all moved to Ok. They settled in Jefferson, Carter, Love and Marsden counties. I have more info. I can email you if you will send me your email address. I have a letter that my Dad wrote to his gfather in 1917. He tells about Uncle John living next to them and being sick.
