I am looking for information on my gggrandmother Lovenia Ellen Thornburg. Various listings has her name as Cerbinia, Eleanor, Lovenia, and Verna Thornburg (also Thomburg). The 1860 United States Federal Census for Oakly (Macon Co.)Illinois lists her birth place as Tennessee in Nov. 1838. Family history states she was part American Indian, perhaps Cherokee. She married Addison Sheetz on 20 May 1859 in Macon Co., Illinois. She is listed on the marriage certificate as Eleanor Thomburg. A search by the State of Illinois turned up no listing of parents. The family was known to be living in near Decator through the 1860's. Son's Silas, John, Charles and Lewis known to be born in Decator. Son George and daughter Clara known to be born in Kansas in the 1870's. Addison died in 1875 in Kansas and Lovenia moved the family to Chillicothie, Ohio (Addison's parents home). She worked as a housekeeper for a Mr. Randolph Hughs and died in 1912. She is buried in a single grave donated by the Hugh's family in Grandview Cemetery outside of Chillicothie. I have no information on parents or siblings, any information on Lovenia and/or her family would be appreciated. This line has become a dead end for me.
