I now have proof that David Thraneburgh/Tronberg/Throneburg of Guilford/Wilkes and Lincoln Counties between 1775 and 1837 real name is spelled Tranberg/Thranberg. I have this in a letter written by David and signed by David to Reverend Paul Henkel in April, 1814.However, the letter is in German and I am working on getting it translated. The Thraneberg family is definitely German Lutherans based on this letter. This is very interesting since there is only one family of Tranbergs/Thranbergs with a David in the United States during this time period. This also links Tranberg to Dronenbergs of Maryland based on their genealogy reports. I also have been able to confirm this spelling with Reverend Paul Henkel's records.
I hope to find out more information as to how David Tranberg is related to Lodowick Dronbarger/Thronebarger of Orange County ( dates 1759- 1800 ).This family shows up in the 1820 census in Lincoln County N.C. as Thronebarger. IF you are interested in sharing info please contact me.
