Hi, I am willing to share anything that I have. I do have a lot of information about Benjamin Burch Thorn and not much about Elizabeth Magruder. I am trying to figure out who the father of John (married to Elizabeth Knight, and who died in 1820, not 1821 as everyone believes.) Thorn is . . . Is he the brother of Benjamin Burch Thorn as everyone believes, or is the other John Thorn (married to Sarah (Finnell?), and who died before September 1831? I know who the parents and grandparents of Benjamin Burch Thorn, are and have proven that line back to early 1700's in Charles County Maryland. I don't know who the other John belongs to, though. If you have any information on these lines, I can use all the help that I can get. There is another Benjamin in Monongalia County, married to Sarah Sayre. I know a little bit about him. Right now, I am looking a miscellaneous court records trying to trace any of the thorns from as early as possible. There is also a William Thorn, wife named Rebecca Smith in Monongalia County. He appears in early Tax Lists and in at least the 1810 Census of Monongalia County. I am also looking at A Robert Thorn, in Monongalia county, from about 1791 (that's the earliest mention of him there that I have.) He died about 1809-1810 in Monongalia County, and his wife's name was Elizabeth. Then there is a Henry Thorn, I don't know who he belongs to, but he got in a fight with another man, and tried to put his eye out. He is listed as a laborer. I can't find him in any tax lists or Census records in Monongalia, but he lived there because he was in the court records more than once in Monongalia County. Thomas Thorn - 2 of them also. One of the Thomas Thorn's first appeared in the tax lists of Monongalia County about 1796. He was married to Cassandra. . . Joshua thorn - 2 of them as well. The older Joshua thorn, married Nancy Lanham in Monongalia County, probably about 1790. These are all the Thorns in Monongalia that I would like information on. If you can help in any way I'd be grateful. If I can help you in any way, I'd be happy to do so as well. Lois K. Parry Notify Administrator about this message?
