While googling my 3rd great grandfather, William T. Elben, I was directed to a Thorn family website. it seems Wm.T. Elben and a Thorn family descendant, Benjamin Pine, served together during the Civil War. A transcript of a letter written by my Elben to Benny Pine's father , is printed on the website. A note at the bottom of the letter says that in 1902, the letter was in the possession of Elizabeth Thorn Pine Roberts. I was wondering if anyone might know if the original letter is still in existence . I would be extrememly interested in obtaining a copy of the original.
