I have now identified full details of Alexander and Janet Thorburn and their children / extended families - this has enabled me to trace back from myself 11 generations in the Thorburn line (back to the 1600's) - details contained in a public tree on Ancestry.com (Thorburn Glen Black Tree). Family roots are heavily concentrated in the Haddingtonshire area, Scotland in the 1800's and Musselburgh/Fisherrow back through the 1700's and into the 1600's.
