Mary, please see the message I posted on this site today as a follow-up to the Thomsons of Scorborough. The information I have is that the Archibald John Thomson, b. 1799 in York, Ontario, Canada, who married Hannah Walton in 1823, was a son of ARCHIBALD, not his brother David. At that time, my Archibald (brother of David and Andrew) had been a town warden of York 1797-1798 as well as a Justice of the Peace there and a Lieutenant in Queen's York Rangers. In 1799 he received a land grant from George III, the year his son Archibald (the one who later married Hannah Walton) was born
