As you and your fellow members are proud of your Chief, I am just as proud of mine, His Grace, the Duke of Argyll, and, I will defend his position to those who disrespect him. I understand your position.
The property sale of Dunardry lands and the fact that Lachlan's sons "disponed" said title of Chiefship of Dunardry to Simon MacTavish clearly states that Mr. MacTavish of Florida has absolutely no legal claim to a Chiefship that legally belongs to another branch of MacTavish. Garthbeg to be exact.
Not all Chiefships transferred with the property, Patricia, come on. Let us remain on the topic of Mr. MacTavish, shall we?
Lord Lyon had to have been aware of the Poltalloch Writs when Mr. MacTavish was marticulated. However, regardless of this very crucial information, Mr. MacTavish was marticulated anyway. As you are aware, Malcolm Innes is taking "an early retirement".
As for copies of Malcolm of Poltalloch's Writs they were orginally written in latin and have been translated. I have requested a copy, yes, and one is being sent. However, I do have the information regarding the sale of Dunardry and the disponed Chiefship by means of Mr. Campbell's researched book.
I have answered most of these questions on a different post earlier today. It is the gyronny and the motto that support my research. Any historian will tell you the same.
Where is the letter from Lyon, Patricia? Post it on this thread instead of speaking for him. There is no way I would believe you otherwise.
I feel Lyon made a bad decision, that is all. After all he is only human and his father was pondering the marticulation before him. However, there is still hope that this "bad decision" will be corrected when the new Lyon is selected.
You are portraying me incorrectly, Patricia. What makes you think my "state" is of anger and hate? I am simply stating what I have researched and I have no emotions whatsoever involved in it. I have every right, as well as everyone from the Standing Counsel of Chiefs to the joe out on the pavement, to challenge Mr. MacTavish's marticulation. Do not suggest this is personal, because it is not.
I beg your pardon. The statements I have made on this forum have been researched and are in no way, shape, or form misleading or incorrect. I do not note incorrect information due to the constant threats I have received from your Chief. When I noted down the information regarding the Poltalloch Writs on the GOTC boards (Campbell forum at that) your Chief's direct response to me was "you two will be sorry" (threatened Alan as well). Would you like to explain why your Chief makes a habit of threatening people when he is challenged?
My spirit is of a challenging nature, Patricia, and there is no healing involved. I am blunt and to the point, I go to church on Sundays, enjoy a nice glass of wine, and I have a wonderful job, a great marrige. But, I do not believe the validity of Mr. MacTavish's marticulation.
If the Thom(p)sons wish to know more about the name and sept issues over the Internet, I would suggest my kin contact the GOTC forum and ask Mr. Neil Fraser, the High Commissioner of Clan Fraser. The MacTavishes of Stratherrick are septs to Clan Fraser as well. Mr. Neil Fraser is a moderator on the Gathering of the Clans forum and I have found his information to be unbiased, well researched, and more importantly, honest. That is, of course, if anyone is interested in this discussion.
Some books are of "opinion", Patricia. The Poltalloch Writs are authentic and written by Malcolm Poltalloch himself. Cannot dispute that.
