A Family History Robertsons of Norfolk
Posted by: Bruce Anthony (ID *****4157) Date: January 13, 2008 at 14:45:02

While writing my family history, I discoverd my connection to David & Mary Thomson. Coincidentally, when I was a boy I lived on Kennedy Rd., not far from their homestead, and I used to go swimming in the creek on their property which I knew as Bendale creek, but which was really Highland creek. At the time their farmhouse was still standing, and while I didn't know my connection at the time, I did know it was the home of David & Mary Thomson.

For anyone that would like to follow one line of descent, through Susannah Thomson and her husband Charles Sanderson, they might like to read my PDF book, A Family History Robertsons of Norfolk, a free e-book, which is available for download and viewing from the National Archives of Canada E-Collection at the following link:

http://epe.lac-bac.gc.ca/100/200/300/katie_books/family/AFamilyHistoryRobertsonsofNorfolk.pdf
85MB, 897 Pages

This book requires Adobe Reader V6.0 or later to view, and takes about five minutes to download using a high speed internet connection. Unfortunately, it is too long to download using a dial-up connection. It is easist to access using a browser with an Adobe Reader plug-in.

The book covers the family and descendants of Henry Robertson born 1803 in Norwich, and contains family trees, a photo collection, personal sketches of family members, and copies of correspondence and some official documents.

There are also photos of Clarissa Sanderson, Susannah's daughter and her descendants.
