Looking for Hans Christian Andersen, born poss. in Copenhagen, Denmark around 1854. Immigrated to the U.S. as an indentured servant to a Mr. Searles of Searles Drug Co. in Galesburg, Knox Co., Illinois. Hans is thought to have left the port of Hamburg, Germany through Ellis Island and on to Illinois and then Missouri. He married Maria Cathrine Thomsen (spelling may be off) in 1881. They settled in Paris, Missouri. Maria had 4 brothers...and also a supposed uncle who was a valet to the King of Denmark. Also, this king was supposed to have been in a plot to over throw the king of Denmark at the time. There is no name for this uncle as of yet...Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

David Alan Stapp
