I also have a Claus Henry Thomsen (gg grandfather)that immigrated to Iowa c.1879 from Schleswig-Holstien, Germany. My Great-grandfather was Peter Herman. Claus' wife was Sophie - other children in the family include: Freda, Julius (Gus), Martha, and Amanda (I may be missing some siblings). Sophie remarried after Claus' death (abt. 1888-1892) and had one more child Lena Wolflin.
