I have the following Thoms in my family line:
John Thom m. to Jean Fyffe sometime in 1830s Alyth, Petrth. Two known children are John b. 1835 and Mary b. 1837. John Thoms moved to Dundee and married Elizabeth Morris Bisset 1857. They had 7 children
William Owen b. 1863,
James b. 1865,
John b. 1865,
George b. 1869,
Elizabeth Morris Bisset b. 1871,
Margaret b. 1873
Johann b. 1877.
I've also found a Mary Ann Thoms (b abt 1842) from census records. I'm not sure how she fits into my family yet but by the names of her children I know she's in there somewhere. There doesn't see to be any record of her marriage and no husband was listed in any census records that I could find. But here are the names of her children.
Jane Ann b. 1860
Georgina Neave b.1869
William b. 1873
Margaret b. 1877
Robert b. 1879
Craigie Bisset b. 1881
