I would like to find out what happened to Mary Elizabeth Thoms who married Donald Hugh MacKenzie in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1896. They had 2 sons: Donald Hugh MacKenzie and Alexander MacDonald MacKenzie. They could have spent some of their lives in South Africa in the early 1900s because both sons ended up in SA - but her husband went back to Milton, Glenurquhart, Scotland and died there in 1939. There is no trace of Mary Elizabeth - it seems she did not go back to Scotland with her husband and her sons never talked about her.
