Dear Quinten Arndt
I am researching Thoms In Milwaukee, WI. I would like to find a connection between your family and mine. Recently, I have had great success in microfilm from Germany--tracing the line to the 1700's.

The lines I am tracing start with my gggrandmother Sophie Thoms married Henry Duewell May 5 1889 in Milwaukee, WI. I believe they all attended Christ Church.

Her many siblings (I don't have them all yet)include
John L. Thoms born 1869 Germany
August Thoms born 1862
Thekla Thoms m. Karl Schnell
Friederich Thoms m. Wm. Fotsch
Carl Thoms
Otto Thoms

Her father is Georg Gustav Carl Johann Thoms born 1836 Germany. He married at least 3 times. Wives include Friedericke Rahde and Sophia Timmerman.

Is there a connection? It sure seems likely to me. I though maybe Friederich and Wm. Thoms might be the grandparents you mention.
