John THOMPSON, born January 4, 1817, Fairfield, Fairfield District, South Carolina, died December 12, 1890, age 73 years, 6 mos, 8 days, was son of Robert THOMPSON, Sr., 1785-1837, and of his wife, Mary McCREIGHT THOMPSON.
John THOMPSON was enumerated in the will of his grandfather, Gaun THOMPSON, when it was written in 1840, approximately three years after the death of his father, Robert THOMPSON, Sr.
John THOMPSON, 1817-1890, and his wife, Sarah G. THOMPSON, 1825-1891, [married before 1848] are buried in New Hope A. R. P. Church Cemetery, Douglass, Fairfield County, South Carolina, USA.
To their marriage, three children are known, including: Martha E. THOMPSON, circa 1852; Mary E. THOMPSON, circa 1854; and James L. THOMPSON, circa 1856.
