Hi Virginia,
I will share what little I have. I have William M Morton married to Elizabeth Ann Thompson in Marshall Co. AL. sometime btw. 1806 -12 Elizabeth was born 26-Dec-1793 grenville S.C. Died before 1851 in Marshall Co. Al. some info I came across has her buried in Forrest Home Cem.
I am trying to prove who her parents are. The names from census's I have are as follows:
William M. Morton's father is on the 1790 census in newberry county S.C.. his name is Marshall Morton. There is a Richard Thompson also listed in Newberry S.C.
On the 1800 census for pendleton district S.C. Marshall Morton is listedand on the same page as a Joshua Thompsonlisted 1 male 16 thru 25 1 female listed 16 thru 25. Also on that census is a James Thompson 3 males under 10 1 male 10-15 1 male 26-44 1 female under 10 1 female 26-44
on the 1820 census Pendleton S.C.james Thompson is listed as 1 male to 10 1 male 10-15 1 male 45&up 1 female 10-15 1 female 16-26 2 females 45&up.
the next james thompson same area 1 male 10-15 2 males 16-18 2 males 16-26 1 male 45&up 2 females to 10 1 female 16-26 1 female 45&up.
There is also a James Thompson listed in Greenville S.C. but the page had no numbers marked for this james.
In 1820 William M Mortonwho married Elizabeth is living in Prince Edward VA. 1 male to 10 1 male 26-45 1 female to 10 1 female 16-26
Exactly who these James Thompson are I am still trying to track down. But reason stands she is probably related to one of them.
That is all I have.I will be happy to let you know what I find as I go along. If you can find any information I would like to hear from you also.
Donna
