Hi Janice,

I notice you have Dean's posted here along with Thompson's. I am very interested, as these two names have been combined in my elusive Thompson family. My g-grandmother was Jessie Dean Thompson, born in TN around 1872.
Here is the 1880 census info I have on this family:

Chatanooga, TN.

M.D. Thompson 42 born GA Father SC Mother GA
Eliza thompson 28 born TN Father VA Mother TN
William H. Thompson 18 born TN Father GA Mother TN
Ada A. thompson 15 born TN Father GA Mother TN
Michael D. Thompson 11 born TN Father GA Mother TN
Jessie D. Thompson 6 born TN Father GA Mother TN
Andrew Thompson 3 born TN Father GA Mother TN
Mary L. Attaway (Cousin) 15 born TN Father GA Mother GA

I believe M.D. Thompson to be Michael Dean, as is his eldest son. I do know for sure that Jesie is Jessie Dean. They originated in SC, went to GA, then on to TN.

As there are so many similar names and places, I wonder if you may have a connection for me.
