I am over-whelmed by your post. In fact, I got lost after William Thompson, son of James Thompson. My GGG-GF
was William Thompson b. 24 Aug. 1764 in Western VA. His father James Thompson b. ca 1734 in Belfast, Ulster
Province, Ireland. This family migrated from VA>NC>SC. Along the way William md. Emily Hammett. In SC, they lived in 96th District. His parents (James and Allis Thompson) followed them from NC to SC. James died there in 1795. His will is in Anderson Co., Court House. Her parents also followed from NC to SC. All four parents died in SC. William and Emily Thompson and their family emigrated to Illinois from SC in 1808. They had a total of 13
children and one was a Rebecca, the youngest b.28 Oct. 1813 in Madison Co., ILL. After William died in 1825,
the family migrated to Adams Co., ILL..
