There's no indication that English Thomas THOMPSON was joined in America by any siblings, or that he had children other than those in Andy's posting.of March 10, 2000.
The Baptism, Marriage and Burial records for old Christ Church in North Shields, Tynemouth Parish, Northumbria (now Tyne and Wear) England have been transcribed and published in book form.I saw a copy in the Family History Library, Salt Lake City, and that's where the Baptism record for "Thomas THOMPSON son of John, May 16, 1731" came from.Slightly abbreviated data (omitting exact day in May) is more widely available in the LDS Church's IGI.
There were many THOMPSONs recorded in Christ Church's records, and duplicate names is a big problem.John and William were very popular names there, and unfortunately the mother's name wasn't put on Baptism records. So exact family groupings are impossible to deduce without other info.To complicate things, North Shields was a seaport, so there were a lot of transients in the data.
You mentioned New Castle upon Tyne. That's upstream from North Shields, and the records of more than one church are probably available for view in the IGI.Unfortunately, New Castle was much larger than North Shields, so the duplicate name problem will be even more overwhelming.Good luck!
