Dear Thomasson/Thomason Family and Friends,

It is with a very sad heart that I inform you that our beloved family member and friend, Margie Malloy, of Newnan, Georgia, went to be with the Lord yesterday, December 13.

Margie was born in Covington County, Alabama, the daughter of Herbert Spencer Brasselle and Durlie Gladys Thomasson.
Margie, an only child, lost her Mother when she was only two years old, and for much of her childhood lived with her grandparents in Covington County, the little community of Brooklyn. She loved her grandparents and learned at a very young age to treasure family and her family heritage,
and this love stayed with her all of her life.

There is so much that could be said about Margie...a book could be written just on her...but the things that I treasured most about her, and that I hope will always be remembered about her, was her beauty, both inside and out, her love for her family and friends, her love for her "prized chickens" and her dogs...She loved history, especially southern history, and documenting her family's history was something that was engraved in her heart, and her avid love for this overflowed to others, including myself and many other family members, and researching the Thomasson/Thomason family really became a "historical mission of love".

Margie attended our last family reunion in Andalusia in August, and although not well, she looked so good...when she entered the room, everyone there stood and gave her a standing ovation of love and appreciation for her dedication
to the Thomasson/Thomason family over the last 45+ years.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, at Foreman Funeral Home in Andalusia, Alabama, and she will be buried in the Thomasson cemetery. Curtis Thomasson sent out an email this morning that really touched my heart. Margie's husband, Ross, died in 1987, and was buried in Newnan, Georgia. Curtis said that Margie's son, Tom, has made arrangements for Ross' body to be returned to Andalusia, and that that Ross will be there waiting for her on Friday. She will be laid to rest next to Ross, surrounded by her Mother, her grandparents, and many of the Thomasson family members that you have read about in Thomasson Traces. When you walk into this little historical cemetery, you are truly walking on "HOLY GROUND".

Please be in prayer for Margie's children, Tom and Charlotte, her grandchildren, and all of her many cousins and loved ones...Saying goodbye to a precious loved one is hard, even though as Christians we know it is only temporary, that we will see them again...

Also, I invite you to visit the website of the JAMES FRANKLIN THOMASSON FAMILY (my great-grandfather); there
is a picture and small write up on Margie there from our
last family reunion in August. Please sign the guestbook so we know that you were there!

God Bless You all....
