Lorenzo THOM (sometimes referred to as Frank or Franklin), was born in New Jersey shortly before his family migrated to Oakland, California. By 1900, he is in Fresno, married to a woman named Emma and the father of Lorenzo G. Thom, born in Dec 1897.
In the 1910 census, he is found in Salem, OR, married to Amy Rut for four years and the father of Mildred, born in 1908 and Delmar, born in Sep 1909. He works in the advertising department of a newspaper.
1920 brings another move and another son, Carlton Donald, born 6 Dec 1912. Both he and his wife are now working for a newspaper.
Divorced by 1930, Lorenzo is still employed by a newspaper, but this time in Tillamook, OR. Amy and the children are living in Eugene, OR. Lorenzo dies on 12 Feb 1934 in Portland, OR.
My husband’s gg-grandmother, Clara Thom Hudson, is an older sister of Lorenzo. What little information we have on him and his family is obviously from public records as it appears that there was no contact with his family in California after he moved to Oregon.
I’m compiling information on his parents and siblings and will gladly share it with Lorenzo’s descendants. Please contact me.
