I have an original postcard photograph of the “Dick Thomm family – Freeport, IL”, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo shows father and mother abt age 40, with two sons, about 20 & 6, and four daughters, probably 17, 14, 12 & 8. Total of eight people posed outdoors, in a good closeup shot. I estimate this was taken in approximately 1914-1915. The origin of the family name, I believe to have been Thom.

In the 1920 census for Monroe (Green Co.) WI, I found a Dick Thomm and family which seem to fit exactly the ages in the photo. In 1920, Dick was age 50, wife Rosa, age 47. Children listed were Will, 26; Clara, 22; Lena, 20; Alma, 17; Marie, 13; John, 11. I was unable to locate any Thomms in the area of Stephenson Co., IL, where Freeport is located.

Email me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to the Thomm family of Stephenson Co., IL or Green Co., WI.
