Hi Gloria, I haven't yet done all the analysis. Some family groups have appeared, eg Joseph Thirlwell & Elizabeth Keenleyside and children. With some of these, however, the parents' marriage details are too early for civil registration. The marriage details are useful for helping to show possible links in the previous generation, ie with the fathers' names of the marriage partners. At the moment I am concentrating on Hexham (Corbridge & Dilston area)registrations, which is where my own Thirlwells hail from in this period.

The details from Mary Thirlwell's birth cert are as follows:
Reg district Tynemouth, sub-district Longbenton, in Northumberland
date of birth: 9th March, 10AM
place: Hazlerigg
name & sex: Mary, girl
father: William Thirlwell
mother: Elizabeth Thirlwell formerly Laing
father's occupation: Pitman
informant: Elizabeth Thirlwell (she made her mark)
registration date: 27th March 1838

Hazlerigg is the only information given about place of birth and residence.
