An Ivey Thigpen can be found in the Washington County, Ga., census for 1840--1880. In 1850, Ivey (45) is listed with wife Sarah (38) and children William D.A. (20) and Eliza A. (8) In 1860: Ivey (62), Sarah A. (45), Ann E. (16) In 1870: Ivey (65), Sarah (64) In 1880: John H. Thigpen (27) head Ivey (80), listed as grandfather Clora, listed as grandmother and wife This suggests that Linton had a brother, John, with whom Ivey and Sarah resided in 1880. I believe this Ivey to be the brother of my 3ggf, Dennis Thigpen. Dennis can be found in the Washington County 1850 census and the 186 Madison County, Fl census. I am working on establishing an accurate lineage of this line of the family and hope to hear from known descendants. Allen Notify Administrator about this message?
