ARCHIE JACKSON 'JACK' THIGPEN JR.
Archie Jackson "Jack" Thigpen Jr., 61, of Camp Wood, died March 6, 2005, at his residence.
He was born June 1, 1943, in Alice to Archie Jackson Thigpen and Leadessa McElroy Thigpen.
Thigpen served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967.
He was employed at the Celanese Chemical plant in Bishop for 32 years.
According to family members, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara Ann Thigpen; and one brother, Robert Edward Thigpen.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jacky Thigpen; two sons, Bill Thigpen and wife, Susie, of Corpus Christi, and John Thigpen and wife, Sandy, of Orange Grove, Texas; one sister, Shirley Pizzatola of Austin; one brother, Don Thigpen of Corpus Christi; and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were held yesterday at 2 p.m. in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Camp Wood with Arturo Malacara officiating.
Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood.
