Better late than never? Charles Gratien was one of the two sons of Jean Baptiste who was one of the two sons of Charles and Marie who moved to Lafourche Interior from Convent. Charles Gratien had indeed married earlier. Mary Ann Smith his first wife died on a steamship. She is interred in St. Mary's as is their only child Charles Stanhope who died at 16. Charles Gratien then married Edrington, had the two children and died 10/4/1877 in Lafourche Parish. I have extensive info, much on the family of Jean Felicien, brother of Charles Gratien.
