The only Charles Gratien THIBODEAU in my database was born 19 Dec 1818, baptized 4 Jul 1819 at Convent, St. James Parish, LA, son of Jean Baptiste THIBODEAU & Marie Nathalie MARTIN (Baton Rouge Records, vol. 3, p. 819--SMI-3, 68). He was grandchild of Charles THIBODEAU & Marie LANDRY (both from Acadia); and of Joseph MARTIN (son of Acadians) & Marie CHARPENTIER.
I can find no further records for him there, but two of his siblings and moved down to Lafourche Parish, where they married and had children. I don't find Charles in the SOUTH LOUISIANA RECORDS, however.
This may be a different man, since he is so much older than his wife, or it may be a second marriage?
Hope this gives you somewhere to look, however.
