i am a descendant of marie-anne thibodeaux
and ignace caron who married at philadelphia, pennsylvania colony on 2 june, 1762...they married at st francis, the only catholic church in philadelphia at that time.
she was an acadian taken from her home in 1755 with her grandparents, parents and at least one brother Paul Thibodeaux.
ignace caron was a prisoner-of-war taken in 1759 near montmagny, quebec.
they met and married in philadelphia and made it back to quebec in the autumn of 1765.
they lived at ste-anne de la pocatiere and eventually moved to rivere-du-loup, louisville, quebec..(this is not riviere du loup county, but is 180 miles upriver and on the north shore of the st lawrence near trois-rivieres.)
all their children were married at riviere-du-loup.
i have their complete ancestry in both lines.
naturally, this ancestry also applies to the brother Paul Thibodeaux who rejoined his sister in quebec and was at Ste-Anne-de-la-Pocatiere also.
if you are a descendant of this couple, or of her brother Paul, let me know and i will gladly share the file with you.
Her parents were Olivier Thibodeaux and Madeleine Melanson.
In the philadelphia parish regester her last name is spelled at Dibodeau...the Parish Priest was English.
