Betsey Lobdell Thew was born November 11, 1810 in Danby, Rutland county, Vermont the daughter of Jared Lobdell and his wife Betsey Signor. She married Daniel Thew on Feb. 1, 1849 in Peru, Clinton co., NY. and They had one daughter Katie L. Thew, born Feb. 16, 1850. Betsey Thew died March 16, 1894 in Peru.
About the Thew cemetery, no I have not been there. Several years ago I hired a person to do some research for me in that area, and he game me quite a little information on the Thew family, and some on the Jared Lobdell family.
Why only the 3 families in this cemetery, I do not know. Information that was given to is that Betsey's father, Jared Lobdell was a Methodist pastor, and later left that church and became an independent preacher.
