A pleasure to make your acquaintance Mrs. Waits!
I lived my earlier life in Mississippi, but I live in Paragould (Greene Co), Arkansas now.
My lineage back to our common great-grandfather is:
My father Benjamin Ervin Therrell II (b. Jan 20 1919, Rankin Co, MS. d. May 15 1989, Mississippi Co, AR) m Vivian Della Murray of Clay Co, KY, in 1942. Children are
>Benjamin Ervin Therrell III (b. Jul 17, 1943, Oneida, Clay Co, KY)
>John Murray Therrell (me, b. May 20, 1947, Jackson, Hinds Co, MS)
>Paul Kevin Therrell (b. Jan 6, 1962, Greenwood, LeFlore Co, MS).
My grandfather Mot M. Therrell (b. Mar 1896, Rankin Co, MS. d. circa 1969, Charleston, WV). m Irma Waldrop in 1918. Child was Benjamin Ervin Therrell II (see above).
My great-grandfather Benjamin Ervin Therrell (b. 1857, Clarke Co, MS. d. 1928, Rankin Co, MS). m Elizabeth Johnson, who appears to have perhaps been full-blooded Choctaw.
My information so far shows that Reuben J. Wilkerson Therrell, son of Elijah Therrell born 1841, died as a prisoner at Camp Butler in Springfield, IL on Mar 31, 1863. He is buried in Confederate section #401 of the cemetery.
Elijah Levi Therrell apparently survived the war, as I found a reference to a marriage license issued to him after 1865. I don't know his wife or the names of his children.
