The marriage record from St. Michael's Church in Convent, St. James, LA (SMI-11, 76) has the date 17 Oct 1854, and Jean Baptiste Gabriel LAFITTE's mother's surname transcribed as BEAUTE (Baton Rouge Diocese, CATHOLIC CHURCH RECORDS; vol. 8, p. 325).
Marie Josephine THERIOT, daughter of Joseph & (E)Merante MICHEL, was baptized at 11 months old on 12 Oct 1836. Sponsors: Auguste TERRIOT & Fidiline MICHEL. Recorded at St. Michael's Church, Convent, St. James, LA (SMI-6, 47).
They had 8 children from 1855 to 1868, all baptized in St. Michael's. (One of the daughters apparently died in Los Angeles, CA in 1955.)
Jean Baptiste was apparently buried on 24 Feb 1872 at Paincourtville, Assumption parish, LA, at age around 39 years (SEZ-9, 143).
Marie Josephine THERIOT's grandparents were:
Pierre THERIOT & Anastasie MICHEL;
Pierre MICHEL II & Marie Marguerite BLANCHARD.
